City Escapades…
Well, a bit of a gap in writing, but by the time I got home last night, I was knackered. Today was boring - slept off yesterday mostly, and then finished book 2 of Farseer (see below) and just finished watching Sky One’s Terry Pratchett’s Hogfather. Brilliant btw - absolutely brilliant.
As for yesterday, had an absolutely blast in the city with net net. Got in there at midday, and we spent the next hour or so wandering around - me lost, her not, despite being from Wodonga - looking for a book I want. Never found it, but the company was such that I didn’t really mind anyway. A lovely half lunch on the steps of Melbourne Central talking started a string of step chats throughout the day.
Then we made our way to the other side of the city, over the Yarra, to the pretty part, and sat on the grass at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl and chatted for a good few hours. We chatted about God mostly, plus books and people and life and… When she finally managed to chat to Evie, I went down to dance on the stage - much fun! - before we then went to meet Evie at Flinders Street.
A failed mission to go then meet Fiona at work brought us half way across the city and back again, where we went to Fed Square to meet up with Fiona - who decided to come back in - and Tim and Rhyce.
From there we headed (after awhile of just sitting on the steps at Fed Square) to Little Asia, or China Town, or whatever we call it, where a failed attempt at finding asian to eat lead us - via another stairwell visit with net net, Fiona, Evie and myself looking at photos and chatting - to the Russel Street Hungry Jacks.
After dinner, and much more talking and a broken nail thanks to a small brawl with Rhyce, Tim and Evie, we made our way back again to Fed Square, where we sat once again on the steps together. We soon relocated to watch the end of the tennis in front of the big screen, before leaving to take the girls back home - Fiona having already left us after dinner. Out to Burnside (?) we said goodbye to Evie and net net =( - the latter of which is now safe back home in Wodonga.
After pestering me for information about my day with net net - subtlety not really Tim’s strong point, he had been doing so all evening, but who cares - dropping Rhyce off home, Tim and I headed to Maccas to further pester me about my day, and what my view towards redheads is. All I can say here is - God’s timing in all things, especially with Godly, extraordinary red-heads! :)
Other news is my renewed desire to head to University in 08, hopefully to do something within the realm of Archaeology or one of those softer sciences - so that I can hopefully give a better name to creationists - considering that the Discovery Institute and Answers in Genesis aren’ t doing the rest of us Christian’s any help. And, if you’re wondering, the photo is from New Years Eve - but don’t show Owen!!!
