The Good Shepherd
Great movie… went and saw it this afternoon after I went to the doctors (which, as a note, was very useful!), and I really enjoyed it. I went in thinking it was going to be a bit of a school-boy drama, but it turned out to be a great exposition of the American spy world in and well after WWII. Matt Damon played a great roll - which is unusual, at least from my perspective. And the supporting cast was really phenomenal!
And, more than that, the way the movie was played out was just really well done. Starting in 1961 the movie played out mostly in the past - from WWII through the post WWII scuffles in Berlin and in to the pre-Cold War era surrounding Cuba and Castro. A great story surrounding his own family, and his work - kind of shed light in to what must have been one of those really demanding jobs, that would have claimed many marriages - not just lives.
Aside from that - it’s been a tough day. I’ve only had 4 hours sleep, and I really need more - which is why I’ll be in bed in an hour or so… if I can make it that long.
Got an email from a farmer though in the north island of NZ, and it’s looking promising - although some cold feet jitters are kicking in. So I’ve just got to stay focused on what God has for me, and believe He’ll help me through whatever is in my path. Anyway - I need money to travel - and I know that regardless of whether I was working here or over there, my reaction would be the same.
Anyway - that’s it from me.
Cheers,
