Well, I’ve just gotten home from a walk which took me to lunch with Rach and back again, and I was listening to my podcasts as I walked. So I decided to share with you - those who do not listen to podcasts due to obvious lacking of cool-ness - the pearls that I am reguarly informed upon.

Firstly, it turns out in a poll of 3000 SFX readers that Serenity is the world’s greatest Sci-Fi movie. In a BBC article, it turns out that Serenity beat out Star Wars (presumably the original trilogy, not just A New Hope), and Blade Runner.

1. Serenity
2. Star Wars
3. Blade Runner
4. Planet of the Apes
5. The Matrix
6. Alien
7. Forbidden Planet
8. 2001: A Space Odyssey
9. The Terminator
10. Back to the Future

Now, don’t get me wrong, I adore Serenity (and Firefly for that matter too!). However, there is no way that it beats out the Star Wars trilogy. And, in all honesty - in my opinion, it has a hard time beating out Blade Runner. It’s a leap above the rest - with the possible exception of cult classic 2001, but still - this has to be a result of some serious Browncoat-ing.

Also, the first of April brought about the release of two new Google beta projects; GMail Paper and Google TiSP. My favorite - Paper - is going to be a revolution throughout the world, so that those of us who are anti-printers will still be able to acquire their emails in hard copies. Check out the links for more information.

:D

And finally, have you found yourself in the firing line of the RIAA with a DMCA takedown notice recently? Not sure what to do about it? Can’t afford high-priced legal representation to simply reply? Then chillingeffects.org is for you! With a treasure-trove of information about your online rights, and ‘fill in the blank’ DMCA reply forms - this site really is one to bookmark.

And that’s it from me now - I think I’ve spent enough time here, so maybe Lord of War will be ready to watch now… :)

Cheers,
