george-bloody-bush!

I am ashamed to say that I was once a supporter of George Bush. Granted, being an Australian, it meant very little that I was a supporter of the big-W, but being an Australian also meant we had the ass-kissin John Howard who seemed to be more in love with Bush than his own wife. From the Iraq-let’s invade ’cause we can-war, to the opposition of any viable change to global-warming and climate change at the next G8 summit, I’ve had it with George Bush.

For those of you who don’t know, the US negotiators to the G8 summit struck several clauses frmo the declaration of intent that would make up the G8 summit’s talking points. Points such as;

- “climate change is speeding up and will seriously damage our common natural environment and severely weaken (the) global economy … resolute action is urgently needed in order to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions.”

- “…we are deeply concerned about the latest findings confirmed by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)”

- not wanting to send a “clear message” and not wanting to agree to cut the global temperature to below 2 degrees Celsius.

These are all taken from a Reuters article, and revealed by the German negotiators who are part of the host nation for this years summit. So you see, events like the global concerts that coincide with the G8 summit are worthwhile events, and something that we should all take part in. Go and watch, watch on TV or give a donation.

For those who are wondering about where to watch it, it’ll be here at http://www.liveearth.msn.com/, and most likely on TV too! So please people, do your part!
