state youth games #5
As I write this now, my legs hurt like the blazes of hell - but it was all worth it. Yesterday, Cash, Scott and I headed up to the State Youth Games to watch M*A*S*H take on the world; or at least a few other Victorian church’s. We started off with Netball - with Coach Cash in full swing, getting his girls through to the win - the win which see’s them in the Grand Final on Monday.
Next was AFL or, Rec AFL… the joke is that the rules for Rec AFL are basically Netball with a football, but given that, they were still eerily like the new rules for standard AFL. Nevertheless, I actually got to play, and though we all realized I should never be placed in front of the goals with an aim to kick the ball through the posts, Mitcham managed to come away with the Grand Final win. According to Matt too, I managed a crucial tackle that swept the ball back down to our forward line, to let Juanita kick the 9-pointer for the win!
After that, was just poker, dinner and takling back at camp. I am still stoked with the fact that I have so many true friends who actually like talking to me. It just showcases how much Mitcham’s community atmosphere is leagues above Donvale (my old church). Side note - M*A*S*H beat Donvale in the Netball semi, so that gave me an extra warm and fuzzy feeling inside.
I’ve got a photo too that I want to share with you all… I’m not really sure what Holly is doing, but whatever it is, I’m glad I managed to snap the photo in time! Enjoy peoples!
