rant-off

Ok… I find sometimes that I am not always that surprised with those around me… they’ll say things that i just grimly shake my head at, and feel ashamed to know them. However just occasionally, I will be again be reminded of the sheer naivety and stupidty of some people. I won’t give examples of the human condition I like to refer to as ‘breathing’, but suffice it to say, it astounds me just how simple some minds can be. It makes you wonder whether you were just like that once, and if you know that you were, how subsequently depressed you feel for ever exhibiting those expressions of unintelligence.

Well, that’s it… I know it’s been a little quiet here of late, but I’ve either been really busy, or just not at the computer… but, YAY, I’ll be going to Holly’s play next weekend, and it’s nearly my b’day. And, to be perfectly honest, I think that Holly’s play is more enticing than my b’day… something about a whole heap of people reminding you that your getting older seems to rattle me to the bones. Not that I won’t appreciate the first party that I’ve really ever had - not including the ones were my 3 friends came over when I was in high school (Hi mattas!) - but there is just something unsettling about the celebration of nearing death. Call me crazy… actually, stop that… Bronwyn had already said it somewhere in the above paragraph, and no doubt I’ll receive an email from Mum sometime soon simply reaffirming her belief of my lack of sanity… regardless of having read this post…

I’m in my long-johns, with my heater pointed at my hands on the keyboard, and I’m thinking of whether to play WoW or read my book… either sounds good, but… hmmm!

So - you think I’ll be reaffirming my belief in your ‘lack of sanity’? Nope…wrong way around. Reaffirming your sanity is the way that should be read.

And actually, I can remember the party at Macca’s, and the pizza movie sleepovers, not always for birthdays, admittedly, but birthdays were in there as well. And the ’stacks-on’ of kids in multiple sleeping bags in the loungeroom cannot be forgotten!

And you know something … it’s disturbing sitting here writing an answer on 12th August to an email which was written on 13th August. It just seems outta sync somewhere!

So - yes, here’s the email from Mum. Affirming sanity / remembering a couple of parties / and perturbed about timewarp.

Love you Son,
Non-partying Mum. :-)

… And I notice that your website clock is off somewhere. The last comment reads that it was submitted at 7.27am your time when it was actually submitted at only 6.27am your time.

Just some useless information for you to ponder fixing. :-)

Cya,

Dong.
