Warm Summer Nights

Today’s been one of those first summer days that hits Melbourne with all the warning of a teen pregnancy. It’s been hot and humid all day, with very little air movement to drive away the heat. It’ll be like this for the next few hours, well in to the night and past midnight.

But, for all the complaining, I love these days. No idea how to deal with them in reality, but I’m not complaining. I got some good reading time, and my weekends been full of sleep; which is good, because for the past few weeks, they haven’t been.

Tonight after church we all headed to the “Special” Park, or as the rest of the world knows it, Haliday Park. The Tampling’s apparently have been calling it the “Special” park for some time now, and I’m not going to be the one to ruin their child-like enthusiasm and dreams.

It ended with a nice reminder of the fact that I do fit in. Not that I need the validation any longer mind you.

Greg made some comment about cockroaches surviving one of his farts, and i chimed in with;

“Actually… cockroaches won’t survive… oh no one cares!”

It was greeted with much amusement, but no exclusion as would have been the case elsewhere.

So now, I’m going to go and probably have a nap. I can’t think of anything I’m overly excited in doing, as I wait for the Bionic Woman to download. We’ll see what really happens in a few hours, once its all over and my work begins.
