Star Trek Teaser Trailer in the Works

From this article here at Chud, via Latino Review, I will second the fact that it is nice to be able to count on a rumor. Not often do we get a bit of news that we don’t have to add an ‘allegedly’ tag too.

The news though, is that J.J. Abrams is working on the teaser (or announcement) trailer for his new project, the latest installation in the Star Trek universe.

Apparently, according to Kelvin at Latino Review, the trailer will be construction shots of the original (ie, Pike’s) Enterprise.

I cannot say how thrilled I am. In all reality, the Original Series of Star Trek was possibly one of the most defining series in TV. So to get to go back to that era where, in all reality, we don’t have as much information, can only be a good thing.

The story, for those unaware, is rumored to be a bit of a time-line revision, with the older Spock (played by Nimoy) going back in time to his academy days. Some failed attempts to stop a revision of time, leads to Spock having to restore history.

Or something like that… Either way, with Christopher Pike cast (Josh Lucas), this movie sounds like it is turning in to just what we’ve been waiting for since Final Frontier.
